Women in advertising

I wouldn't usually point anyone towards the Daily Mail, however I recently came across an old Femail article that has some priceless images from the (currently out of print) book 'You Mean A Woman Can Open It?: The Woman's Place In The Classic Age Of Advertising'.

Word of warning: Unless you want to experience a short essay in 'How to write in a patronising tone', skip straight to the pictures.
